Rita Zides Rogoff died peacefully on March 11, 2018 in Dedham, MA at age 97. She was predeceased by her husband of 48 years, Joseph Rogoff, and her siblings Max, Sidney, Fred, Oscar, George, Murray, Arthur (Archie) Zides and Charlotte Zides Olken. She is survived by her daughters Geri Curwin and Elaine Nett, and grandchildren David, Andrew and Daniel (Menashe Koren) Curwin, and Rebecca Stamey and Jessica Nett, and great-grandchildren Yocheved, Betzalel, Noa, Chana and Hallel of Israel, and Eli, Ryan and Megan of Rochester, NY.
Rita's life was dedicated to her immediate family and to the Zides family, siblings, and generations of nieces and nephews. She was known for her outgoing and vivacious personality, and her fanatic devotion to the Red Sox from the time she was a small child. She loved to sing, especially songs by Hum (Max Zides) and Strum, Frank Sinatra and contemporaries, and Broadway shows. She was also noted for her entertaining and baking, particularly her famous chocolate chip cookies. She will missed by all.
Funeral services will be held at Stanetsky Memorial Chapel, 475 Washington Street, Canton, MA on Sunday, March 18, 2018 at 2pm, followed by burial at Sharon Memorial Park, Sharon, MA.
Memorial observance will be held at the home of Mark and Pat Olken on Sunday immediately following burial, and continuing on Monday at the home of Phyllis Scheuer from 7pm to 9pm.
