Sheldon I. Kriegel
February 12, 1925 – April 5, 2019
Sheldon I. "Napi" Kriegel - Embodied the Jewish Values of Family, Philanthropy, Education, Gratitude, and Unbridled Joy in Life Passed away on April 5, 2019, at 94.
Beloved husband of 62 years to Ruth Kriegel, devoted son to Jacob and Annette Kriegel, and best friends with sister Rita and brother-in-law Sy. Sheldon was the larger-than-life patriarch of a tight-knit mishpacha (Jewish family): 10 children (5 of whom are in-laws),15 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.
Born in Brooklyn, NY in 1925, he went on to serve in the US Navy as a dentist during the Korean War. As a practicing dentist for many years in Amsterdam, NY, Sheldon took immense pride in providing quality care to his patients.
At 90, he was featured in the Boston Globe for his weekly ritual of baking challah for his son's family in New York. His lifelong love of tennis, skiing, debates, music, and Judaism survives in the ethos of the Kriegel family.
The Funeral will be held at Stanetsky Memorial Chapel, 475 Washington Street, Canton, MA at 4 p.m. on Sunday, April 7th.
