Connie Sue Lechner, 49, of Canton, Ohio went to be with the Lord on June 23, 2014 after a long battle with cancer.

Connie was one of eight children to be born to the late Edward (Jr.) and Marion (Tiny) Kimble. She grew up in Canton, Ohio, graduating from Timken Vocational High School in 1983. She has worked at Walsh University for the past 25 years in the print room.

Connie is survived by her daughters, Amanda Lechner and Arrel Card, both of the home; her granddaughters, Justice Collier, Nyah Gamble, and Rae’Lyn Norwood, all of the home; sisters, Sharon and James (Mike) Lovell of Tennessee, Barbara and John Von Mitchell, of Canton, Ohio, Cheryl Kimble and Patty (Keith) Kimble of Canton, Ohio; brothers, Charles and Barbara Kimble, Allen Kimble, and Mark Kimble, all of Canton, Ohio; special cousin, William (Billy Dale) Wilson; special friend, Eric Landis; and numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Edward and Marion Wilson Kimble; and her niece, Erica Kimble.

She will be greatly missed.

Friends may call Thursday from 10:00am-12:00pm in the Karlo-Libby Funeral Home. Funeral services will immediately follow at 12:00pm Thursday with Rev. Phyllis Jones officiating. Interment will be in Forest Hill Cemetery. A reception for family and friends will be held at Garaux Park Hall at 13th Street SW and Raff Road following the burial. In lieu of flowers, the family would prefer donations be made to the American Cancer Society, PO Box 22718, Oklahoma City, OK 73123-1718.

I went to high school with Connie, and then years later, we worked at Walsh University where I got to know her better. She was tough as nails, but she had a warm heart. My thoughts and prayers are with all of you at this time.
