Such an amazing man! He was always the Coventry Track and Cross Country team's number one fan. None of us even knew his real name because to us he was always "Grandpa". He will be greatly missed and forever in our hearts. <3

To The Donovan Family,
What a legacy "Pappy" left on all of those whom he met.  He will always be remembered for his kindness,compassion, quick wit and his complete dedication to his family, coaching and support of sports events.  I will miss his physical presence at the track fence this year but am confident he will be there in spirit cheering from Heaven.  Our hearts and prayers go out to you now and in the future. My grandfather was my hero. He supported my running career more than anyone else. I'm so thankful I had him in my life. Ill miss you always. I love you.

Our thoughts and prayers are with you in this time of sorrow. Fred was a kind soul and we will miss his humor especially when he was trying to sell me a birthday card. I will always cherish the time that I spent coaching with him in the youth football program.

Coach Fred, Our deepest sympathy on the loss of your Dad.  May you find peace and comfort at this most difficult time.  I'm sure he's already discussing plays with all the other coaches who have gone before him.

Dear Donovan Family, Fred was such a wonderful person.  We had the pleasure of getting to know him though his coaching at KYF.  Our thoughts and prayers are with the entire family.  May all the wonderful memories be a comfort to you.

Fred was my first coach in Little League and helped instill and reinforce many of the values that I live by today. He will be missed by many. My condolences to the Donovan Family. You are in my thoughts and prayers.

Fred was a true gentle soul.  George and I are very saddened by his passing.  We will always remember his smile and his jokes, but especially his chili that he brought to the Hartville Marketplace for all of us to try.  We will miss your smiling face, Fred, RIP and watch over us.

Our family reunion won't be the same without Freddy.  He was a lot of fun.  Hope this poem helps.

Those we love don't go away,

I remember freddy when we went to school at summit grade school,in the summer we use to play in his basement,they had a pool table there,on 12th st.lot of good times when we were kids

Mr. Donovon was one of my favorite coaches growing up. One a blessing it was to grow up and coach with him and Dave and Freddie. He taught me a lot not only about football, but how to view life with a sense of humor. I'm sorry for your loss.

I was so blessed to have this man for my brother.  When we were young he was my protecter and as we aged he was my buddy.
He loved his family deeply and took such pride in all of their accomplishments.  Everybody loved his happy smile and great sense of humor.  He loved to tease and joke with people.
