February 27, 1928February 24, 2018

Lois Irene Ulmer went to be with our Lord on Feb. 24, 2018 at Aultman Hospital.

She was the daughter of Ezra and Mable Paulhamus (Wurster), and was raised on the family farm in Salladasburg, Pa. with her four brothers and one sister. She married Rev. Charles W. Ulmer in 1945 in PA and moved to Cleveland, OH, where Charles attended Cleveland Bible College. Throughout her life she served as a pastor’s wife. In 1955 they moved to McDonaldsville, OH (Jackson Township), with their three daughters and resided for the next 32 years at McDonaldsville St. Paul United Methodist Church. In 1967, their son was born. During her life she embraced her role as a pastor’s wife, ministering to the church. She also enjoyed crafts, canning, crocheting, spending time with her friends and family, and gardening with a green thumb. They retired in 1987 in North Canton, OH, where she continued to garden and enjoy her four grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. During her life, her faith and love for Jesus truly poured out through her words, actions and love for everyone she touched.

Left to cherish her memory are three daughters, Marvalene (Dennis) Matson, Marcia Ulmer, and Diane (Kim) Morrison, and son, Charles W. (Sheryl) Ulmer, II, PhD. She is also survived by four grandchildren, Denise (Dylan) Palmer, Eric (Jennifer) Matson, Melissa (Christopher) Coultas, and Amanda (Derek Ehrman) Matson, PhD., five great- grandsons, and two great- granddaughters. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband of 70 years and siblings.

What an inspiration Lois was to me and my family. Always enjoyed her company and her words of comfort and peace. We always had lots of fun going craft shopping and then setting together working on our crafts. I always enjoyed sharing our crafts with others at the various craft shows around the Stark County area. We shared many good times together. She will be missed by all who knew her because she was one special lady. No longer will she be an angel on earth but is now one in Heaven. Rest in peace my sweet friends.
