Obituary of Alma "Ruth" Jarrell
A funeral service will be held for Alma "Ruth" Peden Jarrell, 98, of Brenham, Texas at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 24, 2022 at Eubank Funeral Home, Bro. Steve Glosup officiating. Ruth passed peacefully at High Hope Center, Brenham, Texas on September 16, 2022. Ruth was sister, wife, mother, grandmother, and aunt to family and friends. She enjoyed her family, friends, traveling and her church. Ruth was born September 11, 1924, the 12th of 13 children to Hugh Givens and Emma Edwards Peden, in Canton, Texas. She married Roger Dale Jarrell in November of 1938, Roger passed on January 12, 2006, they had six children, three died at birth. They welcomed, Thomas Dale Jarrell on October 31, 1941, Paula Gail Jarrell on April 7, 1945 (deceased) and Pamela Gayle Jarrell on August 25, 1948 (deceased). Her pride and joy - grandchildren: Cameron Dale Jarrell, Kirk Wayne Carroll (deceased), Troy Wayne Carroll, Todd Wilson, Tischambia Cain, Cindy Aivery; great-grandchildren: Courtney Jarrell, Alex Wilson, Austin Wilson, Arthur Wilson, Ryan Wayne Carroll, Adrianne Nicole Carroll, Zephyr Riley Carroll, Amanda Zillman; many nieces and nephews. Ruth and Roger shared life both in business and church. As pioneers of the Texas Mobile home industry they made many travels across this land and made many friends. They founded Southern Trailer Sales in Victoria, Texas in 1948. After their daughter, Pamela, graduated high school, Roger went and got his flying license. Ruth became a co-pilot as they traveled this country by plane. They enjoyed flying with their own plane, a Comanche 400. Ruth confessed that Roger's airplane was her only competition for his love. After retiring, Ruth and Roger traveled around the country in a motorhome; meeting lots of people. Ruth has made a remarkable journey from the country girl from Canton, Texas. The couple settled in Brenham, Texas for the final years of their lives. Ruth had a very full life. A visitation will be held on Friday, September 23, 2022 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Final resting place will be at Haven of Memories Cemetery in Canton, Texas.
