Delfina grew up with her parents and siblings evangelizing in the Americas. She attended PSJA High School and graduated in 1970. She attended Bible School in Tyler, Texas where she met her future husband. She married Howard Bass on August 31, 1976 and they had one child, James Howard Bass. Delphina spent the majority of her life in Tyler, Texas. After a divorce she married Rev. Clarence Sword. She was devoted to her family, her Lord and Savior. She was a faithful mother, who spent her life caring for her only son, James. In her later years, she cared for her husband and her father until their deaths.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Rev. Clarence Sword; her only child, James Howard Bass; her parents, Rev. D. E. and Bertha Villa; siblings, David Villa, Darlene Villa, Dillia Villa, Daniel Villa and Deborah Brown.
Delfina is survived by her brother, Rev. D. Enrique Villa Jr. and his wife, Juanita of Mineral Wells, TX; her sister in-law, Sheila Villa of Oklahoma City, OK; nieces and nephews, Jennifer Brown, Delia Wilson and husband, Kris, Jonathan Brown and wife, Rebecca, Ricky Villa and wife, Grace, Ruth Villa and Ester Villa; great nieces and nephews, Kristopher Wilson, Hadley Villa, Alexandra Brown, Andruw Wilson and Daniel E. Villa; family in Colombia, S. A. and a host of friends that loved her.
A Joint funeral service celebrating the lives of Delfina and her son, James will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, July 26, 2021, Bro. Jack Thompson officiating at Eubank Funeral Home. A visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Sunday, July 25, 2021 at the funeral home.
