A funeral service will be held for Meda Beth Bement at 2:30 p.m. on Sunday, September 20, 2020 at Grace Bible Fellowship Church in Canton, Texas under the direction of Eubank Funeral Home, Bro. Dan Tarno officiating.
Meda passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family on September 17, 2020. She was born on September 11, 1927 in Walnut Springs, Texas to Archie Calvin Olson and Ethel Mae Lowe Olson.
She grew up in the Meridan, Texas area. On January 29, 1944 she married her love, Benjiman Raymond Bement. They lived and raised a family in Grand Prairie, Texas. Meda owned a drapery business for many years. In 1976 the couple moved to the Van Zandt area. Meda was active in the community. She was the Director of Manna Food Pantry in Canton for several years. She was Baptist by faith. Meda was particularly known for her mischievous sense of humor and unbelievable memory. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great-great grandmother. Meda loved her family dearly. She will be deeply missed by family and friends.
Meda is survived by her children, Elizabeth and Frank Vallery, Benny and Judy Bement, Jack and Patty Bement, Shirley and Robert Smith; eight grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; one great-great-great-grandchild; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Archie and Ethel Olson; beloved husband, Benjiman Bement; grandchild, Sharon Stephenson; great-grandchild, Matthew Shane Vallery; and her six siblings.
The family will receive visitors at the Grace Bible Fellowship Church from 1:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. on Sunday, September 20, 2020.
Interment will be at Myrtle Springs Cemetery in Wills Point, Texas.
