Alfred Matthew Lewek, 91, of Cape Coral, Florida passed away Saturday, April 20, 2019. Born November 18, 1927 in Depew, New York, he attended Rutgers University and served in the U.S. Army's 233rd Engineering Combat Division during WWII. He was an active volunteer in the U-Crest Hose Co. and Fork's Fire Department and Rescue Squads. He was active in the Assumption R.C. Church in Jacksonville, FL and a member of St. Katharine Drexel R.C. Church in Cape Coral, FL.
Alfred is survived by his beloved spouse of 45 years, Jane (Mitchell) Lewek; his daughter, Debra Marie (Lewek) Davis, daughter-in-law, Pamela Beyer; and two grandchildren, Anna and Jeffrey Lewek; in addition to several nieces and nephews.
Alfred was preceded in death by his parents Stanley and Stella (Schmitt) Lewek; brothers, Stanley, Jr.,
Leo, Edward, Henry; a sister, Florence and his son James M. Lewek.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, May 10, 2019 at 1:00 pm at St. Katharine Drexel R.C. Church, 1922 SW 20th Avenue, Cape Coral, FL 33991. Interment will follow at Coral Ridge Cemetery, 1630 SW Pine Island Road, Cape Coral, FL 33991.
