Orin and I served together at the USDA more than 25 years ago, and we have stayed in touch every year since. He was a wonderful colleague and a great teacher. We had a special bond, and I will certainly miss him. He made remarkable contributions to the USDA, especially the soil conservation programs.

Orin was a very special man. He joined our family and immediately became our father. Extremely generous and kind, he thought only of others and rarely of himself. We will miss you Orin, more than you could ever know.
