He married Teressa Pizana Steele on May 23, 1957.
Clayton had a career in Tactical Communication System Design as a Design Engineer for the Army and Collins Radio Division of Rockwell International. He had a passion for electronic engineering.
Clayton was survived by his children, Clayton Henry Steele, John Henry Steele II, Teressa Inez Steele and Anna Maria Steele; a brother, William Steele; a sister, Gwendylyn Ruth Gann , 16 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren, and 1 great great grandchild. Clayton was preceded in death by his parents, a son; Danny Steele and a brother, Jesse Steele.
A visitation for Clayton will be held Wednesday, August 1, 2018 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Rhoton Funeral Home, 1511 South Interstate 35e, Carrollton, TX 75006. A funeral service will occur Thursday, August 2, 2018 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM, 1511 South Interstate 35e, Carrollton, TX 75006. Burial will follow the service at Hilltop Memorial Park, 1810 N Perry, Carrollton, Texas 75006.
