Emily Jean Bradburn (Albright), 79, of Dayton, Nevada passed away on May 22nd, 2021 surrounded by her loving family. Even though she left this world unexpectedly, her light still shines through her children and grandchildren.
Emily is survived by her husband, Fred Bradburn, and three children, Kevin Hogan, Kathy McAlpine, and Mike Hogan. Emily is also survived by her 8 grandchildren. Emily was born on May 10th, 1942 in Reno, Nevada to parents Archie and Lena Albright. She went to school at Reno High, was active on the cheerleading team, and earned many awards through the 4H program. She was a talented craftswoman and artist. Emily sold her creations like hotcakes at craft fairs around Northern Nevada and California, always keeping her husband Fred busy. One of the greatest journeys in her life was owning and operating Grimes Boat landing, a Rv Park, Café and Fish Camp on the Sacramento River with Fred. Grimes Boat Landing was cherished by the community and her family. Her grandkids have endless fond memories of visiting Mamby and Poppo at the Boat Landing, where they learned to fish, cook, build, play card games, golf, and run a restaurant.
Emily was tenacious, bold, and bright. Her laugh would echo loudly in any room, and she left a positive impression on every person she met. She could never sit still. Even in her later years she would golf, thrift, and worked tirelessly at her son's restaurant. As a skydiver at the age of 74, she kept up with her Grandson Nolan. Emily was a true Nevada Woman.
