September 27, 1930November 18, 2020

Dominick Charles Brugnolotti, age 90, of Fuquay-Varina, passed away peacefully in his sleep on November 18, 2020.

Dominick was born and raised in Brooklyn, NY. He was married to the love of his life, Anna Marie Schuler Brugnolotti in Brooklyn. They relocated to Cary, North Carolina with their 6 children in 1966. Mr. Brugnolotti was preceded in death by his wife, "Annie" and his grandson, "Champ." Survivors include his 6 children, 7 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.

He served 2 tours of duty with the US Navy during the Korean War. Dominick worked for IBM for 30 years and had his own photography business. He rode his bicycle all over the East Coast and was an advocate for biking safety for the state of North Carolina. He spent countless hours teaching water and gun safety, lifesaving, swimming and sailing. He was the Wake County Red Cross' Instructor Trainer for over 10 years.

He and his wife Annie were devout Catholics. He was a Knight of Columbus and served his Lord with passion. He loved his family, photography, biking, hunting, sailing, swimming, dancing, telling jokes and stories and making people laugh.

He leaves behind a legacy of love of family, never meeting a person whom he would not bring home to dinner, patriotism and famous sayings: "If you are going to bother to do something, bother to do it right" ; "Nothing is more important than your family" ; "People will come and go, but your brother and sisters will always be there" ; "How did the indian die? He drowned in his own tee pee" and "If you unscrew your belly button, your hiney will fall off".

Mostly he made everyone he met laugh!

Dom was a friend I met at IBM. He was a true gentleman showing respect and always smiling. I am most grateful for his patience in teaching me to swim as an adult at the old WMCA on Hillsborough St. Prayers for the family for I know he will be missed.
