Scollo, Ernesto- 52, survived by his loving wife Denise (Bourlier) and son Eli Joseph, mother Anna Maria (Marino), sister Angela (Scollo) Huff-Griffin, brothers, Carmen, Jack, John, Andy, Frank and Anthony. Many beloved aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews, cousins, friends and colleagues. Ernesto was predeceased by his father Giuseppe and niece Julia Huff.

Born in Bisacquino, Palermo, Italy, Ernesto immigrated to Syracuse, New York as a young child. A graduate of Our Lady of Pompei, Henninger High School and of Boston Architectural College, Ernesto worked as an architect in the Boston area for several years and later in architectural sales in a regional capacity and as an expert in his field. His career brought him to Illinois and eventually to North Carolina.

Ernesto was never short on passions. Growing up in a large family Ernesto was naturally gifted with compassion, generosity, patience and a sense of humor treasured by all who knew and loved him. Ernesto was strengthened by his faith in God and confidently passed that on to his son. His dedication to his life’s work was evident in his professional accomplishments. Mr. Scollo was an avid runner, enjoyed cooking, took great pride in creating his home with Denise and was a comfort and constant to both his neighbors and friends. His open door welcomed friends and strangers and created family. Above all, his devotion to and pride in his family will be his legacy. Nowhere was Ernesto happier than when with his son: Helping with Scouts, taking pride in his education or watching him compete as a rower. Although Ernesto will be missed, his passion, love and spirit will never leave us and we are eternally grateful.

The family will receive friends from 7-9pm Friday, June 8, 2015 at Brown-Wynne Funeral Home, 200 SE Maynard Road, Cary, NC 27511. Services will be private.
