After Mom and Dad retired they enjoyed spending time together. They were avid fans of the Atlanta Braves and Duke Blue Devils basketball. They would sit together and cheer them on, laughing, yelling at the umps and supporting their favorite players who became a part of their family every season.
Mom had a passion for 18th century antiques and going on the quest to find treasures was something that she and Dad loved to do, especially in the summertime when the days were warm and sunny.
But, when the winter months approached their focus would turn towards heading down to Florida in their RV. They looked forward to seeing old friends, eating lots of fresh seafood and attending some of their favorite 'away from home' churches. She would sing in the choir, lifting her voice in praise and adoration to Jesus -- she loved him so.
One of Mom's special gifts was a ministry of hospitality and preparing food for others who were sick and in need. She was famous for her pound cakes. Through the years she took great joy in baking these cakes for others. They were a very special love gift.
But the best thing about Mom's life - shared with Dad - was Full Gospel Businessmen's Fellowship International and Women's Aglow. They traveled together telling others of the goodness of The Lord, singing praises with other believers and preaching the good news of Jesus and His marvelous salvation. This was the hallmark of their life.
Mom is survived by one son, Richard Chesson Morgan and his longtime friend Beth Park; two daughters, Robin Wendlandt (Wolf), Kimberly Morgan-Smith (Dick); four grandchildren, Courtney Hale (Jamie), Morgan Wendlandt (Jennifer), Greer Kirkman (Katie) and Rachael Wilhite (Justin). She was "Gran" and "Gaga" to her seven precious great grandchildren whom she adored; Blake, Isaac, Reese, Malea, Elijah, Noah and Elena. They all brought her great joy.
