Ingeborg Marianna Neuhauser
October 3, 1929 – September 8, 2020
On September 8th, Ingeborg Marianna Vogel Neuhauser passed away peacefully in her sleep in Cary, NC. She was one month away from celebrating her 91st birthday.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Hans, to whom she was married for 56 years, and her son Robert. She is survived by her other son, John, and his wife Katie, 5 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.
Inge was born to German parents, Alfred Vogel and Gertrude Leder, and loved her German heritage. She was fluent in German and continued to write handwritten letters in German to her relatives in Germany until the last few years of her life. Inge was born in Abington, Pa and was a lifelong resident of the Philadelphia area, until April 2017, when she relocated to NC to be close to her son and his family.
Inge was an only child, but easily made friends and lifelong acquaintances. She was blessed with having great neighbors in Hatboro who became family friends as well. Her extended family were “The Eagles Nest Crew” childhood friends of Hans. Every one of these folks was just like aunts and uncles to her children.
Inge enjoyed cooking and entertaining throughout her life. She was always a very social person who never met anyone to whom she could not talk to and about whom no one said a bad thing. Her family was always the most important thing in her life. She and Hans enjoyed the outdoors and spent many joyous times at Waldeslust, their property in the mountains of Pennsylvania.
A graveside memorial service will be held at 11:00am on Saturday October 10th at Whitemarsh Memorial Park, 1169 Limekiln Pike Ambler, Pa
In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to Transitions Life Care in Raleigh, NC

I will be making a donation to the American Chestnut Foundation (ACF) in Inge's name. This is the premier organization for the reforestation of American chestnuts in North America. Their headquarters is in Asheville, NC and they maintain a large, impressive research and breeding farm which you can visit in Meadowview, Virginia.

I am a resident at Woodland Terrace senior living facility. Inge and I were close friends here for three months. I am mourning her loss with you, her family. Inge was an absolutely wonderful person. She was kind to us residents and the staff. Though she struggled, she wanted to communicate with us. She and I at times used my iPad computer to translate and speak my English into German and her spoken German into English so we could communicate better. Her wonderful smiles kept me here when things got rough. Thank you Inge for sharing some of your time with us.
