

She was born June 5, 1929 in Wilkes Co., to Charles and Pearl Blackburn Hunter. She attended Mitchell’s Business School. In 1949 she married Jack Snead who preceded her in death in 1975.
She was also preceded in death by one daughter, Pam, three brothers, CG, Bill, and David Hunter, and two sisters, Millie Dennis and Judy Baugh.
Surviving are her son, Jay (Karen) Snead; her daughter, Annette (Richard) Cheney; her four beloved grandchildren, Katie, Jacki, Emmy, and Hillary; and two sisters, Linda (Ken) Moser and Carol (Doug) Bassitt.
Mary had a long career in banking at First Federal in Raleigh and BB&T in Cary retiring at the age of 80.
She was a faithful member of First United Methodist Church in Cary and a proud member of Order of the Eastern Star.
No one deserves to rest in peace more than this beautiful mom and wonderful lady. Mom we love you and will always hold you in our hearts. You are a true blessing and a beloved mother, grandmother, and sister.
A Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday evening at Brown-Wynne Funeral Home in Cary. A funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, August 17, 2016 at Brown-Wynne Funeral Home in Cary. Burial will be in Forsyth Memorial Park in Winston-Salem.
Memorials may be made in her name to St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
