Lucille Maurello (Grammie Lou), peacefully passed away with her family by her side on January 18, 2013. She was born on October 25, 1921 in Weston, Colorado and grew up in Trinidad, Colorado and along with her husband, Victor, moved to Denver and Aurora to raise their family. She was trained as a beautician in Walsenburg, Colorado and finished her career years later in Aurora. Lou was active in the Ladies Auxiliary with the Elks Club and the Knights of Columbus for many years. Vic and Lou spent their lives together enjoying dancing, traveling the world and loving their children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Her husband, Victor J. Maurello passed away in 1999.
She is survived by her sister, Laura Shultz and brother-in-law Bill and 4 children Jan Darnell, Laura Jean Buckler, Elizabeth Finney and Rob Maurello.
She dearly loved her daughter-in-law Melissa Maurello and sons-in-law, Michael Finney and Larry Buckler.
She had 8 loving grandchildren, Dawn, Laura, Jennifer, Blake, Mandy, Austin, Korey and Nick and 4 great grandchildren, Sydney, Mina, Daniel and Lyric. Nephews, Randy and Tom and Niece Lynette.
She will be deeply missed and will always be remembered for her kindness, love and sense of humor that was felt by everyone she knew.
Our joy is in knowing that she is at peace and will forever be dancing with her "V" and watching over us as our guardian angel.
