Bob grew up in Pueblo, CO with his two younger brothers, Dick and Daniel. He attended the University of Southern Colorado and majored in History before being accepted to medical school at the University of Colorado. Bob married the love of his life, Velma Hovis, on July 2, 1970 in Pueblo, CO.
Bob was passionate about his work and practiced obstetrics and gynecology for nearly 20 years. He also loved sports; he enjoyed going to Broncos and Rockies games, attending his children’s sports games and activities, playing golf and swimming. Above all else, Bob loved spending time with his friends and family. He always put his family first and always put the needs of others before himself. His greatest joy in life was being a full-time grandfather to Nolan and Morgan. Bob was the rock of the Mestas family and will be missed in his role as a loving father, passionate friend and the most giving grandfather this Earth has ever scene.
Bob is predeceased by his wife Velma. Those left to cherish his memory include his children Jennifer and Bobby (Megan); grandchildren, Nolan and Morgan; his brothers Dick and Dan; and his nieces and nephews, Richard, Anthony, Mary Beth, Stephen, and Jesse.
A celebration of Bob’s life will be held on Tuesday, December 10, 2019 at 10:00 am at Olinger Chapel Hill Mortuary, 6601 S Colorado Blvd, Centennial, CO 80121. The family will then receive guests at a reception immediately following.
