Hello all, #3 Son here. Though my brothers and I knew my mom’s passing was near, it hasn’t soften the blow of her passing. 
Carl, Pauline, there are not enough words to express my thanks to you both for your hard work in putting Mom’s/Grandma’s service and burial together. Prayerfully with all the compliments you realize what a wonderful job you’ve done!
It has also showed me that our family still has a strong bond and that the Kingsbury and Holland family is still there to encourage and strengthen one another. As Dad said many years ago “if you don’t have family, you don’t have nothing” .  
Saturday and Monday I saw bridges built over past troubles. I saw forgiveness and  family relationship’s rekindled and rebuilt. Not to mention being able to see all the family together once again.
Many thanks need to be extended from our family to those that were involved from Mom’s service’s to her burial. Again from Carl and Pauline to the staff at Dignity Memorial at Chapel Hill and the Dove’s release.
There are a lot of memories of Mom that weren’t mentioned and I would encourage EVERYONE as memories come to mind, come back to this website and post them and share them! This page will be up for 1 year.
That being said, a few things were mentioned to me,  one was how Mom Loved to ride with Carl on her Harley. Her and Carl went on a lot of benefit ride’s.
Did you know mom took a motorcycle Rider course?
Did you Mom volunteered at Kaiser Permanente in Englewood as a receptionist?
One of Mom’s fondest memories was when Carl and I were on Christmas Leave during the blizzard of 1982. Over 10 people stuck in Mom and Dad’s apartment for a couple of days.
A ton of memories with the Hearn/Kingsbury camping trips! Patty and Wayne came on one too!
The trip from San Diego California to Springerville AZ was another leave Carl and I went on. Carl and I meant up with Mom and Dad in Springerville Arizona. We stayed with Frank and Barbara for a few days than drove back to San Diego

The Norman's got their very first and only puppy from "Aunt Bett", I remember that she brought "Freckles" to a dinner that we were having at Grandma and Grandpa Holland's on West Evans. Freckles was all decked out in a hand made collar with a snapdragon on it. What a memory!

I met Betty Kingsbury 40 years ago. She worked with me at Dolly Madison and at Fotomat. She was very kind and had a great sense of humor. Throught working with her I got know Chuck Claude,Carl and Charlie.
Over the many years she shared friendship and I got to know all the Kingsbury's very well.
She always welcomed me to her home. I became great friends with Charlie. 
She will be.missed. My faith assures me she is now in the loving arms of God.
May God hold her in the palm of his hand as She is reunited with her beloved Chuck and other family and friends.
Heaven will be a lively place with her there.
May she rest in peace.

Aunt Betty was a second grandma to me and my brother.  When my mom was a single mother she babysat us and we lived with them. I don't know how she managed it all. There were her family of 5, great Grandpa and the three of us, this was one of the happiest times of my childhood.   They seemed to always have a foundling or two living with them. The kindness and generosity she and Uncle Leon displayed are examples I still strive for in my life.

Cute stories; Betty had only raised boys so didn't understand why I, a girl, would climb around and get dirty.  One day I climbed up on a wooden box and got a huge splinter under my finger nail. She said, "If you had been acting like a girl that wouldn't have happened. " I  still don't understand that. Hehe

Mikie did something and wouldn't stop so she sent him to sit on the time out chair to think about what he did.  He said, "Fine, I will sit, but I won't think." She told that story often.  

Betty threw the first birthday party, I can remember, and gave me my first tights. I wore them until they wouldn't go over my knees and cried when mom threw them out.

Betty was hard on us, as children,  but we always knew she loved us.  Then we all started having the baby greats and she became this person no one recognized.  They could do no wrong and time out was cruel. Hahaha! 

I miss her red kitchen. My next kitchen is going to be red.

I know she is rejoicing with Ucle Leon and her parents with her siblings and that makes me content.  I look forward to joining her and everyone else 

Betty and Leon were always closer to me then other members of my family. I suppose one reason being we were only 15 years apart and perhaps sometime were more like sisters. I remember when Janlyn and I were about 6 or maybe 8, Betty and Leon were driving some kind of small convertible import and they stuff 4 kids in the back seat (using the term kiddingly) we were at a stop light and a semi pulled up beside us, we were at lug nut level and Leon remarked he'd like to drive under the trailer, Betty hit him on the arm and told him not to even try it. Janlyn started crying, I don't know if I believed him or not but I do remember being scared.

She was an excellent cook and always cooked from scratch until Leon died. She made beautiful cakes and did a cake for my wedding and my sister's.  While making my sister's cake she was also watching my children.  Mikie was helping her in the kitchen and when it came to decorating Mikie kept bumping against the table, which was not stable. She finally yelled at him to get out of the kitchen.  Leon found him setting on the steps to the back room crying and ask what happened, Mikie said she yelled at me to get out of the kitchen so Leon picked him up walked through the kitchen and swiped him finger in the icing as he was going through. I didn't get Betty's reaction to that.

She is going to be missed.
