OBITUARY

Elaine Alicia Wahrmann

February 15, 1961November 27, 2019

Elaine Alicia Wahrmann, affectionately known to some as ‘Dimples’ and ‘Pinky Doo’ to her now deceased father, was born to Keith Howard and Elma Gwendolyn Wahrmann on February 15, 1961 in Kingston, Jamaica, WI. She was the 4th of 6 siblings who are devastated by her passing. Elaine transitioned on Wednesday, November 27 at 1:34am MT at the Aurora Medical Center in Aurora, CO. She was proceeded by her parents, Keith (December 22, 2014) and Elma (August 17, 2018).

Elaine attended Harewood All Age School where she sat and passed the Common Entrance Examination earning her an acceptance at the esteemed Dinthill Technical High School.

Elaine’s love of Christ, leadership, passion for community service became evident while attending Dinthill – she was a member of the Junior Jaycees, the Public Relations Officer of the ICSF club and, in her final year of Dinthill, the Headgirl (known in the US as Student Council President). Even at such an early age, Elaine challenged the status quo by becoming one of only two females to pursue engineering studies at Dinthill.

After graduating from Dinthill, Elaine furthered her studies at Duffs Business College in Kingston, JA. Not only did she earn an Associate’s Degree in Business Management; she was also the 3rd runner up in the highly acclaimed Duffs Business College Beauty Pageant.

Elaine’s first job was as a Bookkeeper at Modern Partitions Ltd. in Kingston, Jamaica. She later became a pseudo office manager. This position was no easy task as she oversaw some of Jamaica’s most ‘unsavory’ elements. Elaine’s affinity for people soon had these elements eating out of the palm of her hands and made them her biggest champions and protectors.

Elaine migrated to New York in 1987 and resided first in Brooklyn then Staten Island. She held several positions in various organizations as accounts payable clerk, accounting clerk and bookkeeper/office manager. While living in Staten Island, Elaine continued her community service and was a Board Member of the 120th Police Precinct Community Council (2000-2003); a Board Member of the Stapleton Civilian Observation Patrol (1999-2000). Her service was acknowledged with a Certificate of appreciation from State Senator Vincent Gentile, 120th Community Council and the Stapleton Civilian Observation Patrol.

Through God’s grace and mercies, we were blessed that Elaine survived the bombing of the Twin Towers in Manhattan on September 11. She was working 5 blocks away from the towers.

Elaine moved to Colorado and joined her sister Judy in January 2006 and achieved her dream of entrepreneurship She first worked in a bead store then opened her own establishment – Elements Designer Jewelry – in 2007 where she designed one of a kind exquisite pieces of jewelry. She closed her business in 2009 after the market crashed . Elaine held other positions such as marketing coordinator, bookkeeper and bookkeeper/office manager. While in-between jobs, Elaine volunteered at the University of Colorado, Anschutz Medical Campus offering several services.

Elaine is survived by siblings: Patrick (Phyllis) Wahrmann - New Jersey; Kaye Wahrmann (Courtney Pinnock) – Florida; Yvonne Wahrman - New York; John (Kelsey) Wahrmann – Arkansas and Judy Wahrman – Colorado; nieces and nephews: Keturah, John Andrew, Kai (Ben Slovek), Keith and Andrew; and our second mother and dearest aunt - Aunt Gem (Veda Britton), other aunts, uncles, cousins, relatives and friends.

In loving memory of Elaine

I am deeply saddened by the passing of Elaine
The day that God called your name It broke our hearts, but heaven needed an angel and they picked you

Elaine you have left memories in my heart
And that’s where they’ll always be
I can remember the night we gave uncle Joe and Judy six love in a domino game and they kept quiet for the rest of the night

You were special and that’s not a lie you meant so much to all of us
You brighten up the darkest day Your smile alone warmed hearts Your laugh was like music to hear Not a second pass when you’re not on our minds

Now think of her as living in the hearts of those she touched
For nothing loved is ever lost and she was loved so much

But we remember you now in love your vibrant life from start to end and we’re just glad we know you as a friend

RIP

It is always a difficult time to express oneself when a family member has died. There many countervailing emotions involved. God in his infinite wisdom has a plan for all of us and we are merely briefly passing through this world.

It was only yesterday, in my mind, that I see you happy and vibrant and to learn that you are gone forever has brought great sadness to me.

Time and distance have kept us from meeting even for one more time. I regret in not being able to express my happiness for your personal successes and accomplishments in person.

I know we all will fondly remember you, especially your brothers and sisters. My family and I would have wanted to get to know you more, since some of my family have never seen you in person. It is therefore a sad moment for us. I am sure that out of your passing the rest of us who survive you will resolve to keep you in our thoughts and hopefully find the will to keep a little closer to one another, even in simple ways.

May you rest in peace.

Elaine I will never forget your kindness and love when I would visit you and your family in Staten Island.
The Wahrmann family has become apart of my life over the years,we may not have seen each other in a long time but you all have always been in my prayers.
We all need a time for tears, not for the one who is at peace in heaven, but for ourselves as we realize that things will never be the same.
Trusting God to continue to hold the rest of the family very close in his loving arms.
With all my love. GRACE.

My Dear Cousin Elaine.

Always warm, kind and loving. You gave the warmest hugs. You and Judy taught me how to shop in a department store. You were never far away in my daily thoughts. You taught me how to play jigsaw puzzles on the Internet, which I still do everyday. You were always special to me, and not just because you were named after me. You will always live on in my memories.

Elaine was a big sister to so many of us who were friends with her younger siblings. She was this calming sophisticated force when we were wild and untamed. I have great memories of this wonderful human being. Recently over the summer when her family visited Florida I had a chance to call. She answered and we had a great talk. She always showed concern for others and when she spoke to you, you felt like you were the most important person. What a gift. My thoughts and prayers continue to be with the Wahrmann family.

Never thought I’d lose you,
But here I am,
Standing alone,
Without you by my side,
We’re sisters for life,
We promised,
But now you’re gone,
I don’t know what to do,
Without you,
I’m going crazy,
I’m trying to hold on,
To keep strong,
But it just doesn’t feel right,
I’m waiting here,
My arms wide open,
Tears running down my face,
Ready for your return,
Even if it takes forever,
My sister…
