Eunice Hall Craven

August 19, 1938September 6, 2020

Eunice Ann (Hall) Craven passed away peacefully at her home in Littleton, Colorado with her husband and children by her side on Sunday, September 6, 2020, at the age of 82. Eunice was born on August 19, 1938 to Ronald and Mildred Hall in Lebanon, New Hampshire. She was the youngest of two girls. Her sister, Irene, one year older, was her very special friend and role model. South Portland, Maine became Eunice’s home once she began school. She attended South Portland High School, Regis College in Weston, Massachusetts, and went on to obtain her Bachelor’s Degree in Education from Gorham State Teacher’s College in 1960. Eunice had a love of children and enjoyed her time teaching, whether it be as an elementary school teacher, tutor, substitute teacher, or educator of students unable to attend school. She treated her students with patience, love, and care as if they were one of her own.

Eunice met her beloved husband, Joel, at South Portland High School. Their first date was a fraternity hayride. Their courtship lasted 7 years and they were married on August 12, 1961. Eunice and Joel recently celebrated 59 wonderful years of marriage. They lived in Maine, Massachusetts, Virginia and eventually retired in Colorado making many friends along the way. In addition to Joel, Eunice is survived by her three children: Jolene Oborn and husband Chris Oborn of Centennial, CO, Joel Craven Jr. of Highlands Ranch, CO and Jennifer Nolan and husband Pat Nolan of Parker, CO. She is also survived by five grandchildren including Ashley Craven, Katelyn Oborn, Kyle Oborn, Connor Nolan, and Callahan Nolan. She also leaves behind one sister-in-law, Pam Craven, as well as many nieces, nephews, and friends. Eunice was predeceased by her parents, Ronald and Mildred Hall, and her sister, Irene (Hall) Beck.

Eunice cherished taking care of and being with her family most of all, but she also enjoyed the beach, cross stitch, knitting, crafts, puzzles, music, and celebrating holidays. She was a talented seamstress. She had a great sense of humor and always had a smile on her face.

The family wishes to extend a heartfelt thanks to Guardian Angel Caregivers, specifically to Jennifer Nolan, and to Porter Hospice for their loving care and support.

Eunice was immensely proud of her family, and leaves behind a lifetime of beautiful memories filled with love and laughter. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Alzheimer's Association https://www.alz.org/

We are all so blessed to have lived a life with Eun a part it. She was an amazing Mom to everyone, taught me so much about the importance of family. She was the best Nannie in the world to her grandkids. She was my daughter Ashley’s Best Friend, She taught me pick and poke and got me addicted to cross stitch for many years! Her sense of humor would give you a stomach cramp from laughing. Wish I could remember all the jokes. She had a lifetime of cherished memories to take to heaven. Love to you all.

So sorry to hear this sad news. I feel extremely fortunate to have had such a wonderful childhood growing up next door to the Craven family. Ms. Craven was a wonderful lady with a great sense of humor. I will never forget her reaction the day I was invited over for lunch. Of course I showed up with my pet frog Charlie in my pocket. When she asked me "where's Charlie?' I pulled him out of my pocket, her reaction was comical. We still laugh about all the good times we had. She will be missed.
