Gerald Verne Cudney, age 86, of Highlands Ranch, Colorado passed away on Saturday, March 17, 2018. Gerald was born October 26, 1931. He is preceded in death by his parents, Grayce (McCollister) and Harold Cudney; and sister, Carol Ann Hessel. Gerald is survived by his wife of 63 years, Elmira L. Cudney of Highlands Ranch, CO; sons, Greg (Lolly) Cudney of Denver, CO and Todd (Cathy) Cudney of Boise, ID; grandchildren, Alex Cudney of Vail, CO and Lauren Cudney of Denver, CO; and other loving family and friends.
Gerald graduated from Cheyenne, WY High School in 1949. He attended Colorado State College of Education (CSCE), now the University of Northern Colorado. Upon completion of his sophomore year, Gerald joined the Wyoming Air National Guard and was deployed to Japan during the Korean War, being Honorably Discharged November of 1953. In 1954 Gerald graduated from CSCE followed by attending New York University, receiving a Masters Degree in Retailing. Upon graduation Gerald was employed in the retailing industry for Marshall Fields in Chicago and the Denver Dry Goods Co. in Denver. In 1957 Gerald began his career with the Monroe Calculating Machines as a salesman, which culminated in a very successful 28-year tenure.
A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 am, Tuesday, March 27, 2018 at Lutheran Church of the Holy Spirit, 6400 S University Blvd, Centennial, CO 80121. A private, family burial will take place at Olinger Chapel Hill Cemetery.
