Harold Joseph Corah Harold Joseph Corah of Englewood Colorado passed away peacefully at home on March 17, 2013 at the age of 86. He is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Charlotte Corah (Clarke) and their children David Corah and wife Barbara, Rhonda Swanson and husband Steve, Bryan Corah and wife Marsha, and Dan Corah. He is also survived by six grandchildren: Breanna Corah, Micah Corah, Tanner Corah, Rebekah Corah, Christian Corah and Jessica Swanson. In addition, he is survived by his half-sisters Marie Sawochka and Doris Montgomery with her husband Porter (Sonny); and many cousins, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his older brother and sister Clarence Corah and Dolores Scobie. Harold was born in a farm house near Lankin, North Dakota to William and Nellie Corah (Hall) on July 19, 1926. As a young boy on the farm, he recalled most vividly the non-motorized machinery and the teams of horses that powered that equipment. In 1940, Harold, his sister Dolores and their mother Nellie joined his brother Clarence and other family in Englewood, Colorado. He remembered being very unhappy about leaving family and friends and his favorite pastime, ice hockey, in North Dakota. However, as they approached Denver for the first time, from the eastern plains, Harold remembered seeing the Rocky Mountains growing on the western horizon, and became excited about making Colorado home. After graduating from Englewood High School in December 1944 he was drafted into the US Army where he served until the end of WW II. Following his military service he returned to Denver and received a degree in civil engineering from the University of Denver and then began a career as a civil engineer with the federal government. He married Charlotte in 1952, his “pretty little girl from Parker,” and started a family and began building their first of four homes in Englewood. Favorite family memories include spending time at Charlotte’s parent’s farm near Parker, horseback activities, skiing, boating, fishing, hunting, camping, and enjoying all that the Rocky Mountains promised him. He enjoyed being surrounded by and doing things with family, who will miss him very much.
