Proverbs 31:28 Her children arise up, and call her blessed; her husband, also, and he praiseth her. Darlene DeFawnia La Plaunt, 75, of Centralia, Wash., went home to the Lord on Tuesday, March 26, 2019, following a brief illness. She was born in New Orleans , Lou., to Othel and Dorothy (Cook) Dillard. She attended High School in Charndon, Oh. Darlene was a real estate agent, home interior designer, a Certified Nurse’s Assistant, and owned Darlene’s Polynesian Dance Studio; but her favorite title was ‘Mom.’ In 1985, Darlene married her sweetheart, Donald La Plaunt in Centralia, Wash., blending two families together, and acting as an example of what marriage should be to all who knew them. Darlene was a King James Bible believer. She fellowshipped for many years at Faith Baptist of Chehalis, Olympia Bible Baptist, and Centralia Bible Baptist Church. She loved her Sunday School children, particularly. Darlene loved planning family functions, parties, and events. She decorated for every season and holiday, but Christmas was her very favorite. Darlene is lovingly remembered by her husband of nearly 40 years, Donald La Plaunt; children, Ann Leah Kindred, Kenneth Kindred III, Rhonda Kindilene Kindred , Michael Edward Kindred, and Vanessa Sharmaine (Mark) Kupietz; step-children, Marianne (David) Brewer, Kenny (Cindy) La Plaunt, Michelle (Kevin) Hayes, Daniel La Plaunt, and David La Plaunt; 21 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; siblings, Cheryl Miller and Chuck Nash; and a host of other family members and friends. The funeral service will be held at 11 AM on Thursday, April 4, at Sticklin Funeral Chapel. All who knew and loved Darlene are invited to share food and memories at a potluck reception directly following the funeral at Centralia Bible Baptist Church, located on Gold St next door to Sticklin. Interment will take place at 2 PM immediately after the reception at Claquato Cemetery, 142 Stearns Rd in Chehalis. With love to our Beautiful Mother, a very deep and caring spirit; known for her faith in Jesus Christ, and for sharing that love abundantly with everyone she knew. She was truly a servant to all.
