Marlene was born on January 24, 1951, in Rugby, ND, to Otto and Mary Voller- Olsen. Her family moved to Longview, WA, in 1962, where she attended area schools. Marlene married the love of her life, John, on August 23rd, 1968, at Immanuel Lutheran Church of Longview.
She and John traveled the world, spending lots of time in Europe during John’s Army career.
Marlene loved to crochet, often giving family and friends little gifts she crafted herself. She was a huge Seahawks fan, and she loved going on camping trips with her family and friends from their RV group.
She loved and cared for her family, immediate and extended, with all of her heart, and it showed. She was an activities coordinator at Prestige in Centralia for 20 years, and the residents held a special place in her heart, as well.
Marlene is survived by her sweetheart of 49 years, John; sons, John (Christine) and Kevin (Michele) White; grandchildren, Rachel, Austin, and Zachary White; sisters, JoAnn Peterson and Kathy Hiatt; brothers, Ron and Jeff Olsen; and many others that will miss her dearly.
A memorial service will be held at 1 PM on Wednesday, March 14, at God’s Place 100 Oyler Road, Ethel, WA. Inurnment will be private.
