Dorothy Mary Matherne Montreuil passed away peacefully on Monday, December 23, 2019 at the age of 94. She is preceded in death by her husband, Wilfred J. Montreuil, Jr., her son, Roy L. Montreuil and her sisters Rosemary Vincent and Betty Gerhardt.

She is survived by her son Wilfred (Bill) J. Montreuil, III and his wife Linda Ragnelli Montreuil of Georgetown, TX and her daughter-in-law, Elizabeth Quarterman Montreuil of Slidell, LA. She is the proud grandmother of William J. Montreuil and wife Lisa and their children Alexander and Nathan of Round Rock, TX; Michael J. Montreuil and wife Amanda and their children, Olivia, Kate and Benjamin of Round Rock, TX; Shelley Montreuil Pann and husband Mike and their children Mia, Chase and Cruz of Slidell, LA; Kelley Montreuil Hicks and husband Robert and their children Royce and Rhett of Baton Rouge, LA. She is also survived and fondly remembered by many nieces, nephews, and dear friends.

Dorothy was a longtime resident of St. Bernard Parish and currently resided in Georgetown, Texas. She was a devoted parishioner of Our Lady of Prompt Succor Church. She was a devoted mother and grandmother and dear friend. She had a zest for living and loved to dance. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a visitation from 8:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, January 11, 2020 at St. Bernard Memorial Funeral Home, 701 W. Virtue Street, Chalmette, LA followed by a mass of Christian burial at 10:30 a.m. She will be laid to eternal rest at St. Bernard Memorial Gardens.

In lieu of flowers, a donation may be made to the charity of your choice in her memory.
