peacefully, surrounded by his loved ones, on April 17, 2019. From the early months of his life, he had a
firm but gentle way of making his wishes known. His family lived in New England until he was 12; then moved to Prescott, AZ where he had roots.
JD joined the US Army in February 1984, serving 2 years as a Chaplain Assistant and was able to see
the world. Upon his honorable discharge, he began his career with Safeway as a carry out. There he moved upward finally becoming a Store Director. His 33 year career with Safeway took him from Yavapai County to Gilbert Az.
He met the love of his life, Lupi, in Prescott and they married in September 1996. In February 1997,
they welcomed their son, Phillip, who was the apple of his father’s eye. JD loved his family deeply, his
wife, Lupi, children Deanna and Daniel, whom he raised as his own, and their son, Phillip, who links
them all together. In 2006, grandson, Jalen, came along. JD loved being a Husband, Father and Papa
to his grandson.
His passion for collecting sports memorabilia started as a child with baseball cards and through the
years included vintage items.
In August 2018, JD began his battle with illness. His strength and the love of his family and friends
helped him fight until the Lord healed his suffering and let him rest.
He is survived by his wife: Lupi Hall, children: Philip, Deanna and Daniel, grandson; Jalen, mother:
Medora Hall and sister: Lorene.
