I am so thankful to have known Joyce in the following ways:
First, she taught my son, Joel in the third grade at Bain. He is a 49 year old attorney now. And he remembers her fondly too. When I would see Joyce at our retired teachers' events she would ask, "How's Joel doing?"
Second, Joyce and I taught 3rd grade together at Piney Grove for a few years. She was" the best" to work with for sure.
Third, Joyce and I were members of the Hickory Grove Baptist Church family. She truly was, " my sister in Christ."
And I will always be thankful for her. She was an example of a life well lived for sure.
We all can have peace in knowing that Joyce is with the Lord and we will see her there.
You are in our prayers, precious family.
Love,
Nell Vea

Melvin, Cheryl & Beverly.
Joyce was my first grade teacher and we also went to church at Wilson Grove with the family.
She was a kind and wonderful lady and will be missed greatly.
Please accept my sincerest sympathy and know you will be in my thoughts and prayers, for God's comfort, peace and strength, as you all walk through these next days, weeks and months..
God bless you all and may her memory be eternal!!

Dear Cheryl, Melvin, and Beverly,
We are saddened by the death of your dear mother. I have many fond memories of times spent with your Mom and Dad. Cheryl, our sleep overs, church events, camps, Mundo Vista, choir, and school. Your Mom was always supportive and sweet. She never seemed to mind all of our talking and giggling. May the peace of Christ cover your family during this time of sorrow and remembrance. Our prayers will continue for all of your family.

Much love,
Becky and Tim Brown
