Neal Hood, 73, husband of Bonnie Eicher Hood, passed away on April 17, 2016. He was born on February 26, 1943, in Wilmington, NC, to the late Lloyd and Elise Hood. Neal was a graduate of East Mecklenburg High School and the University of South Carolina. He served as an officer in the U.S. Army after graduating from Officer Candidate School. Neal spent his career in sales and sales management in the medical products industry, most notably with Baxter Healthcare. He received numerous sales awards during his career.
Neal is survived by his wife of almost 50 years, Bonnie; son David Hood (Melanie) of Charlotte, NC, and their children John, David and Caroline; daughter Christy Vico (Alfredo) of Thousand Oaks, CA, and their children Matias, Juliana, Lucas, Analia and Olivia; sister Janice Johnson (Steve); sister Harriette Bonkemeyer (Ed); and four nieces and nephews.
Neal loved to travel and experience different places and cultures, especially those off the beaten path. He and Bonnie lived in London, England, and from there visited many countries. Neal was a follower of politics and loved to keep up with current events, especially in the business field. He was a big fan of country music and the Carolina Panthers. Neal loved the beach and adored his grandchildren. He was loved by everyone and will be missed by all.

A memorial service celebrating Neal’s life will be held Wednesday, May 4th at 2:00 pm at Trinity Presbyterian Church. The family will receive friends in the church parlor following the service.
