I am so sorry to learn of Lula's passing. She was a cousin to my mom (Ruth Bass Rayburn), but we haven't seen her in a very long time. I would like for her family to contact me (704-827-6941) so I could give them my personal condolences. Thanks..

Lula was once my mother's roommate at The Brian Center, and was such a lovely lady with a great wit. She was purely a Christian and had nothing but kind words to say to everyone. She once quoted Scripture to me and when I told her I'd never heard that particular verse before, she said, "My dear, if we knew everything in the Bible, we would never return to it." What a wise and shining example for us all.

I met Lula at the Kimberly when Mom lived there and they were good friends.
Sorry to hear of your loss. We will be remembering your family in our prayers.

I met Lula when my mother became a resident at Lake Park about five weeks ago. They ate at the same table. I thought Lula was one of the sweetest ladies and loved the Christian remarks she made quite often. She told me the reason she looked so good for her age was because she had given her life to Christ years ago. Her family should be very proud of her and we know she is with her Heavenly Father. I will miss seeing her at lunch. Rebecca McCall (Pauline Holmes' daughter)
