Nora Soria Irreverre (baptized as Aurora) was born to Damian Soria, a carpenter, and Rufina Fabillaran, a homemaker, on January 10, 1939 in Bantay, Ilocos Sur, Philippines. She was the second among five children.
Nora was married to Rodolfo Ines Irreverre on January 6, 1963. They were blessed with four children. Their eldest, Genalyn was born prematurely and died one week later due to lack of hospital facilities in the province at that time. They lived humbly with insufficient money, but raised their children full of love, patience and humility. She and husband Rodolfo and their youngest daughter immigrated to the United States in October of 1996.
Nora had a heart of gold. She always helped others first before herself. Her great passion was cooking as she used to sell her specialties house to house but would end up giving them away. She was also known for her generosity and hospitality. She was a cosmoholic, even when at home she would dress up, wear makeup, fix her hair and wear jewelry. She always wanted to make sure that she got her manicure and pedicure every month. She never wanted a gray hair so she never missed having her hair dyed at least every 4-6 weeks. She loved gatherings with family and friends and loved being the center of attention.
Nora was amiable and always lit up the room with her jolly presence and sweet smile. She was adored by many; her friendly gestures and pleasant personality will be dearly missed.
Nora is survived by her only son Jethro and his wife Amalia; second daughter Gina and her husband Edgar; third daughter Sheryl and her husband Prescilo; grandchildren Eunice, Japheth, Carmela, Lucas; sister Aida Adela; brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nephews, nieces, great-nephews and great-nieces.
Nora was preceded in death by her husband Rodolfo; parents Damian and Rufina; brother Dionisio Soria; sisters Corazon Cortez and Nita Purificacion. She was also preceded in death by nephews Dante Soria and Rodrigo “Joseph” Cortez.
