Pansy N. Moseley, of Waxhaw NC, aged 90, went to be with her Lord on December 6th, 2023, from Clear Creek Hospice in Concord NC, surrounded by the love she bestowed upon her family and friends. Pansy, one of six, firstborn and eldest daughter to Walter and Artie Norwood, entered this world, a farmer’s daughter, on September 3rd of 1933.
Preceding her in death were her younger sister and second born, Annie Plyler, and husband, Bryan Plyler, third born brother Walter Norwood, and his wife, Carole Norwood and fourth born brother Clyde Norwood and his wife, Ruth Norwood.
Among the living are her two remaining brothers, fifth born Tommy Norwood (Phyllis Norwood) and final-born Larry Norwood (Susan Norwood). Additionally, Pansy is survived by Hilda Norwood, wife of late cousin Vernon Norwood, and Doloris Learmont (cousin) with her husband Bill. Lastly, close to Pansy’s heart was her personal friend Beth Hinson.
Her legacy lives on through her daughter, Annice Eury, and grandchildren: Channon Craig (Chris Creamer), Elizabeth Hyatt (Scott Hyatt), Michael Craig (Shannon Craig), Daniel Eury and youngest Jason Eury (Allie Eury) all begetting a multitude of great grandchildren.
In Pansy’s work life, as in her personal, she was a dedicated and meticulous professional. Taught by her farming parents at a young age, the rewards of persistent effort and diligence, she learned to balance her education with hard work. Pansy served as a bookkeeper and office manager throughout her lengthy career. Her commitment to detail and organization, along with her ability to reliably and efficiently foresee both logistical and operational complications were skills that she leveraged with passion. Pansy’s conscientious and assiduous nature earned her the respect of her coworkers throughout her professional career.
Her professional life naturally complemented her personal passions. Farm life at a young age taught her to find joy in the simple pleasures: nurturing a love for gardening, travel, reading, and music. Her love for gardening was a lifelong endeavor as she spent her life nurturing the earth to bring forth both sustenance and beauty – finding the pair equally fulfilling. A small-town girl with grandiose notions of travel, her adventures took her across the continents; she traversed Australia, while there she uncharacteristically rode a camel and flew in a hot air balloon, where she embraced the exhilarating experience of being suspended in the sky. Her zest for life also led her to China, where she marveled at the Great Wall and stood humbled in the presence of the terracotta soldiers, inspired by their timeless legacy. Her vacation to Florida with late ex-husband John Moseley and grandchildren was one of her favorites. She also visited Hawaii joining her brother Clyde Norwood and his wife Ruth. These vacations were favorite topics to discuss when reminiscing with family and friends. These vacations humorously outlined Pansy’s organized and meticulous nature.
Pansy N. Moseley will forever be remembered by her loved ones for her adventurous spirit, kind heart, and unwavering love for her family, community, and her dedication as a gardener and traveler. Her willingness to humbly serve others, a driving force of her personality, was something Pansy always kept personal. She took pleasure in acts of kindness, rarely sharing them with little more than the beneficiary of the act. Pansy's impact extended far beyond her immediate family; she touched the lives of many with her kindness, compassion, and generosity, not something that even her most distant loved ones will ever forget. She leaves behind a legacy of compassion and a treasure trove of cherished memories that will forever warm the hearts of those who knew her.
In remembrance of Pansy's compassionate spirit and powerful presence, she has kindly requested that donations be made in her honor to support those in need, particularly at foundations such as Crisis Assistance Ministries for those in financial crisis, the Charlotte Rescue Mission serving those who face homelessness or A Child's Place providing aid to the homeless and children in dire circumstances.
