Dear family of Ron Pence,
I have missed speaking with Ron on Sundays and having him hand
me a bulletin. And then his presence as an usher at special services
showed his dedication to Ascension. It was encouraging to me to witness this devotion when he continued to attend when his health
started failing. It was an honor to know him.
So at this emotional time for all of you, I send my sympathy and
join you in celebrating Ron's life. Ellie Kalnik

Most every year my husband Richard and I would come to Charlotte to spend Christmas with my Dad and Louise. It was always a joy to see Ron's smiling face at the Christmas Eve church service as well as sharing in a conversation with him. He was always so thoughtful and kind. He will be missed.
We send our deepest heartfelt sympathy to all his family and loved
ones.

So sorry for your loss. Friendship goes back to High School days and lived in the same neighborhood with Cecilia. He attended the Class of 1957 of Harding High 80th Birthday party on 9/14/2019 and it was a joy having him with us. He will be missed by our HHSAA and all his many friends. Love and Sympathy to the family.

Dear Pence Family,
As I've processed this news about Ron's passing over the past few days, I've come through the many memories of him with such high regard and appreciation to God for letting Ron be a part of my life and for a lot of years. First, as members of the same church, Ascension Lutheran, when I was there from childhood through college and then as family members via Melanie's marriage to my brother, Al. Ron was ALWAYS steadfast, sturdy, reliable, faithful to Cecelia, family, Ascension Lutheran and more. Ever "observant and informed", Ron was always a good conversation waiting to be had about one subject or another. Clearly this part of his quiet personality endeared & endears him to all those who knew him. I mourn with you Pence Family as he was part of my family too. Lord God, YOU alone are to be praised for blessing us and this world with Ron Pence and I thank YOU, Lord for the gift he was to me and my family. Larry Broome

I will miss seeing Ronald at the alumni luncheons and our religious discussions. Lutherans and Episcopalians have a lot in common. He was a faithful churchman and family man. His wife was a huge church worker and he admired her for that. Servant of God we’ll done, truly a life well lived.

Ron was one of my dearest friends since 1956. He was one of the smartest persons I knew and had a sharp memory even up to the last time our group had lunch together in September. I already miss him and there will be an sad and empty chair at our next luncheon. God bless your soul and rest in peace old friend.
