Helen Styer Bridges

Helen Styer Bridges, age 87, of Charlottesville, Virginia, passed away peacefully at her home on January 13, 2018. She was born in Philadelphia and was a long-time resident of Manassas, VA, and then Washington VA, residing for many years at beautiful Reality Farm in Rappahannock County, surrounded by the Blue Ridge Mountains. She also spent time in recent years at Longboat Key, FL.

Helen is survived by her devoted husband of 70 years, Robert O. Bridges, and their four daughters: Sharon B. Wood of Richmond, Donna B. Harris (Robert) of Charlottesville, Brenda B. Cox (Frank) of Charlottesville, Pam B. Roberts (Mitch) of Darien CT.

Also surviving are her grandchildren: Justin Harris of Richmond, Byron Harris (Tyler) of Richmond; Taylor Wood (Kristen) of Wantagh, NY; Vaden Cox (Nichole) of Huntersville, NC, Austin Cox (Caroline Smith) of Nashville, TN, Kendall Cox of Charlottesville, Cabell Cox (Chelsea) of Charlottesville; Cara Cox (Andrew) of Charlotte, NC, Weston Roberts (Brianna) of Franklin, TN, Bren Carson (Daniel)of Franklin, TN. “Nana” is survived by 13 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

As an artist, painting instructor, homemaker, and B & B owner, Helen leaves a legacy of faith, love of family, art, decorating, antiquing, entertaining, and whimsical humor.

She was preceded in eternal rest by her parents Ralph and Mary Gibson Styer of Sterling, VA, and by beloved grandson Erin Wood of Richmond, VA.

A Celebration of Life will be held 11 a.m., Saturday March 3, 2018 at Trinity Presbyterian Church, Charlottesville Virginia.
