When Don and I moved to South Meadow View Road over twenty years ago, Jean and Dick were among the first people we met in the community. They generously filled us in about West Chatham, Hardings Beach, and the charming downtown of Chatham. Since we had a deeded boat slip, Dick kindly took Don out one morning to show him how to navigate through the opening between north and south Monomoy.. That was just the beginning of Dick's boating advice. Jean detailed our neighborhood and the backgrounds of the people living there. Many afternoons, I would sit with her looking out over the Oyster River, chatting away. After Dick died, Jean and I would go out to lunch at the Beacon Room and other venues. She also provided a winter home for Don's boat. In all, she was kind and understanding. We have since left West Chatham, but she will always be remembered by both of us. Our sincere condolences to her family.

Deb, Rick & Doug so very sorry for your passing of your Mom. I’ve known her almost as long as I knew my parents. Our moms were out Brownie Leaders - believe Deb and I were 5 or 6. And so the friendship began. Somehow around 10 or so we lost contact. Don’t know why - it just happened. Believe it or not think of you always, Deb and miss you! My condolences to all of you. It’s not easy but remember your Mom lived a good long life.

So sorry to hear of your mom's passing away. She lived a long wonderful life. I worked for your dad for 11 years at Travelers and he was a smart wonderful boss. Your parents allowed me to rent their Chatham home a few times in the 70's when my children were very young. They still talk about catching crabs on the dock behind your parents home. Good memories!

I was blessed to have a friend in Jean for 41 years. So many good memories of working with her at the CT Historical Society and visits at the Cape. I so admired her for her kindness, sense of humor, wisdom, and style. And how I wished to be even half the homemaker she was. I cherish the needlepoint tray she made me for a wedding gift. My deepest sympathy to all the Lyman family.
