Diane Anita Pinkerton
March 30, 1948 – September 5, 2019
Diane Anita (Brossard) Pinkerton passed away Thursday, Sept. 5, 2019, after complications from a fall. She was a native of Lewis County, born in Chehalis, Wash., March 30, 1948, to George and Lilly Brossard.
Diane grew up in Napavine and graduated from Napavine High School in 1966. She worked for Skyline Restaurant, Goodyear Tires and Hemphill O’Neill. Diane earned a certificate of proficiency/paralegal from Centralia College in 1988. She worked for Lewis County, including Weed Control, the Sheriff’s Office and served as the Chief Deputy Clerk. She then worked for and retired from Bonneville Power Administration. Diane married Robert Pinkerton in October of 1967. They divorced much later in her life.
She is survived by two children, Jeffrey Pinkerton (Heather Courtney Pinkerton) of Chehalis and Gerri Norton (George) of Ethel; and three grandchildren, Ryan and Heather Norton and Courtney Pinkerton. Additionally, she had four great-grandchildren from Ryan and Heather.
Diane was preceded in death by her parents; and recently her brother, Gary.
She loved to spend time with family and friends. Diane had countless interests and hobbies, including riding her beloved horses and playing guitar and piano. She loved to rescue and care for animals. Diane enjoyed crafting and repurposing ordinary items into decorations. She collected old trunks and enjoyed a good Seahawks football game or pinochle game. Diane was a longtime Chehalis Eagles member and Loyal Order of Moose member.
The family would like to thank everyone for their kind words, memories and generous offers of support through this difficult time. An additional thank you to the 911 dispatchers and emergency medical technicians who responded so quickly.
A graveside service will be at 2 p.m., Friday, Sept. 20, 2019, at the Napavine Cemetery. A celebration of life gathering will be held immediately after at Trinity Rebekah Hall at 111 W. Washington St., Napavine, WA 98565. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation in Diane’s name to the Lewis County Animal Shelter.

Diane was a beautiful person inside and out. She a true friend and Cousin. She always had a good word for all. When we would visit George and Lilly when we were little Diane and her brother Gary were so welcoming and always made us feel at home. She is going to be missed greatly. Love you Diane and sorry for your loss Jeff and Geri.

Diane was a good friend. We shared a lot of laughs and sometimes tears. Such a sweet lady and a wonderful friend. I will miss our daily chats. She loved her family and her animals. She will be greatly missed.
