George Gilbert Clark

George Gilbert Clark, 93, passed away Friday, April 27, at his residence, in Kalama, Wash. One of four brothers, born to Albert and Nellie (Miller) Clark, June 1924, in Millersburg, Ind. He was a farmer, living in Chandler Ind., when WWII broke out. He was drafted into the Navy in 1943, spending a little under three years, as a landlocked sailor, at Naval Air Station Hutchison, Kansas. This was home to Training Unit VB-4, flying the Consolidated PB4Y-1, as an Aviation support equipment technician, Second Class. He met and married, Billie Louise Anderson, shortly before being discharged from the Navy in 1946. He resumed farming after the war, spending 41 years working with Jersey and Holstein dairy cows. He loved family gatherings and riding horses. George was preceded in death by his parents, siblings and daughter Shirley. He is survived by his daughters; Donna Stephenson, Vicky Graber, sons; Danny Clark, Leslie Clark, 15 grandchildren and 31 great-grandchildren. Memorial donations can be made to: the Veterans Memorial Museum, in Chehalis. A graveside service is scheduled to begin at 1 p.m., on Saturday, May 5, at Forest Lawn Cemetery, in Pe Ell. Arrangements are under the care of Brown Mortuary Service, Chehalis.
