Dear Joyce,
Please know that my thoughts and prayers are with you at this difficult time. I have many vivid memories of Don who so often made me smile with his silly jokes and small kindnesses either at the Chesterland Giant Eagle or at Saint Anselm Church. I admired Don's old-fashioned work ethic and his heartfelt patriotism. I also found quite charming his evident pride in having you as his wife. I am but one of many who will miss this gregarious friend.

Don will always be remembered by our family for his great love for others and his very pleasant salutations every Sunday at church. Many years ago, we first met Don at his place of work where he would greet us in his "Donald Duck" style voice to engage the kids. Then we became fast friends as we would gather weekly after mass to talk and spend time together at family birthday parties and graduations. Don was always so eager to listen to our children's recent activities and interests and to share his thoughts and life experiences. We will deeply miss these weekly encounters but will never forget that he is with us always in spirit and especially at Holy Mass when we celebrate as a family. We love you Don and will see you again when we reunite in God's kingdom . Until then, we will keep you close in our hearts and we will hold Joyce up in prayer and stay close to her in friendship. Thank you for your great love!

Our heartfelt condolences go out to you Joyce and your family at this most difficult time. I am saddened and shocked at the passing of Don. What a fun loving man he was. From Maple Heights to Chesterland, our hellos turned into some great conversations. I remember "your" dance at Larry's wedding. He loved you so. Please know Bruce and I are here for you if there is anything you need. I am so very sorry for the void he has left for all of us.
