I am so sorry to hear of the passing of this sweet lady. Trudie & I met when we were 15 & from day one we were like family. She was @ my house or I was @ the Nicholson’s. So many memories I hold very dear to my heart were spent with this precious family. Mrs. Nicholson always made me feel like one of her own, no matter how much time had passed from one visit to another. I loved spending time @ their house! I will never forget her making Trudie’s wedding dress & then our Bridesmaids dresses, all by hand, I was fascinated! Although the friendship we have now as adults is different from the one we shared all those years ago, it is just as dear to me! Trudie & Tony, I am so sorry I couldn’t be there to say this in person, but please know you & your families are in my thoughts & prayers. Love To You Both

Sara was such a blessing to my two kids. I will always appreciate the love that she showed them on the school bus. We still enjoy the Christmas ornaments she made them each year. Such a Godly lady that will be truly missed.

I remember the first time I met Mr. Nicholson, he was driving our bus and when he let us off one day he invited me and my brothers and sisters over to his house the following weekend to swim in his pool (all 7 of us)! When we went over there we met Mrs. Nicholson and right away they welcomed us like family and introduced us to all of their kids and grandkids that were there visiting at the time. Mrs. Nicholson fed us, Mr. Nicholson taught us how to swim, they both made us feel very welcome and even drove us all home at the end of the day. I remember thinking that these had to either be the nicest people I'd ever met in my life or they just hadn't gotten to know all of us Duke kids very well yet. It was the former, and from that day on they treated us like we were their special guests every time we visited and showered us with love and attention. I won't ever forget how special that made us all feel considering we oftentimes felt out of place and overlooked coming from such a large family and not knowing very many people in our community. They were truly a special kind of people and I feel blessed to have known them and had them in my life.

Mrs. Sara was not only a member of my church, she has been a special friend for many years. I will miss her sweet smile and gentle spirit. But I’m rejoicing in her final graduation to her eternal address. See you soon Mrs. Sara.
