

Mrs. Dorothy “Ruth” Campbell Deadmon, age 95 of Kannapolis, passed away on Wednesday, July 14, 2021 at Transitional Healthcare in Kannapolis after a period of declining health. Born April 21, 1926, Ruth was the daughter of the late Lester Franklin Campbell and Susan Virginia Melton Campbell. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, O.C. Deadmon and her brothers, Johnny, Grady, June and Earl Campbell and her sisters, Virginia Cunningham, Kathleen McCollum, Eleanor Owens and Faynelle Beaver. Ruth was a charter member of Landis Baptist Church.
At Landis Baptist Church, she orchestrated the children’s church pageant, played the piano, sang in the choir and sang with the Campbell Trio. She spent her career as a homemaker, taking care of her home and her family. She had a servant’s heart and loved to serve others and had a great love for children.
Those left to cherish her memory are her daughter, Renee Hill; grandchildren, Tiffany White, Joseph Robinson and Susan Johnson (Chris) along with three great-grandchildren.
Visitation for Ruth will be on Monday, July 19, 2021 from 10:00 – 11:00am at Linn-Honeycutt Funeral Home. Funeral Service will follow at 11:00am in the Chapel officiated by Pastor Mike Austin, Rev. Eddie Graham and Pastor Chris Messina. Graveside Service will immediately follow at West Lawn Memorial Park in China Grove.
