Mr. Larry Gene Beaver of Rogersville, Tenn. passed away on Monday, Nov. 12, 2018. Born on May 10, 1948 in Iredell County, he was the son of J.C. and Edith Mae Henley Beaver. He was a grandson of the late Charles and Anna Hoffman Beaver and Carl and Fannie Henley, all of Landis. He was the great-grandson of the late John R. Beaver, the first police chief of Landis during the 1920s and 1930s. Larry's immediate family included his wife Mary Frances Beaver; his three daughters, Holly, Julie and Audrey; and his identical twin brother, Barry. He was a graduate of South Rowan Senior High School, class of 1966 in their College Preparatory Curriculum. Additional education included Brevard College, music major; Blackstone School of Law, Paralegal; Sanderson Flight School, private pilot; Rowan Technical College (1982), N.C. His compositions were published under the title “STYLE & PROFILE; THE MUSICAL COMPOSITIONS OF LARRY BEAVER”. In addition, he developed several music methods and teaching texts for missionaries worldwide- plus, traveling across the USA, Mexico and South America to preach the gospel. Possibly the greatest time of his life was spent as Front Man and Song Leader for the late H. Richard Hall of Cleveland, Tenn. Brother Hall was one of the original evangelists during the great “healing revival” in America during the 1940s and 50s. Even through the Polio Epidemic of 1952 brought him down at age 4, the Lord Jesus Christ intervened and propelled him into many accomplishments. H. Richard Hall told him on one occasion “YOU HAVE SURMOUNTED AN INCREDIBLE MOUNTAIN. I DON'T BELIEVE ANYTHING CAN STOP YOU”. And nothing did! Visitation & Service: Visitation will be on Thursday, Nov. 15, 2018 from 12-1 p.m. at Landis Funeral Home in Landis with graveside service at 2 p.m. at Chestnut Hill Cemetery in Salisbury.
