Obituary of Betty Sue Gwartney
Betty Sue Gwartney, age 80, was born to Dewey and Edna Edwards on July 30, 1939 in Bokosha, Oklahoma. She passed away on Saturday July 4, 2020 in Chowchilla, California.

Betty is survived by her husband of 54 years, Donald Gwartney; sister Jo Hale, sister Mary Packer, sister Judy Blackwell, sister Janet Corsaro (Dennis), brother Rick Edwards (Sue), brother Ron Edwards (Kay) and brother Kenny Edwards (Mindy); Numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, and many children that she helped raised in Chowchilla, California.

She was preceded in death by her father Dewey Edwards, mother Edna Edwards, and sister Helen Hopkins.

In 1991 Betty went back to school and obtained her GED. She was very proud of her accomplishment as was her family. Betty was a member of the Free Will Baptist Church and of the VFW Auxiliary in Chowchilla. She also worked at Virginia Scott's day care for several years.

A committal service for Betty will be held Friday, July 10, 2020 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Chowchilla Cemetery District, 23359 Road 14 1/2, Chowchilla, CA 93610. Due to Covid-19 the cemetery asks that all that are in attendance please abide by the social distancing and mask guidelines.
