To the Don Lydic Family:  I just heard about the passing of your beloved husband and father and wanted to send my sincere condolences to you all.  I've worked with Don for the past 15 years and truly enjoyed working with him and his friendship.  Don was extremely intelligent, caring for our customers and truly loved his family.  There were many dinners we've shared where Don wouldn't stop talking about his awesome boys, who in the beginning were young boys and now have grown up to be wonderful young men.  Don worried equally about all three of his boys and hoped he was doing them proud by working hard at his job, providing them guidance, discipline and the tools to be productive individuals in society.  Don will truly be missed by everyone who knew him, especially me.  Sometimes life seems cruel when an unexpected death is upon us; however, I'm a true believer "There is a reason for everything" and only time will demonstrate this for us all.  My prayers are with you all during this very difficult time.  

Don, for a short time, worked for me but prior to that I had worked with him on some projects.  He worked hard and was ever willing to do what it takes to solve the problem or help out. His work ethics and willingness to learn were truly commendable. He will not cover up with excuses if things do not work out. He was open to learn new things.  I can count on him. I wished I had the chance to talk to him before he passed away but somehow I always thought that there is time. I am truly saddened by his passing.

For Don's family,  I never had the honor to meet you but nevertheless, he will go on for hours if you let him to talk about his family.  He cared very much for his family and worried about  them.  I am truly very sorry for your loss. He was taken too sudden and too young.  Hope you will find comfort that he was great guy and that he was well regarded.  If there is anything I could do, please do not hesitate to let me know.

I lived next door to Don and was a classmate in our Navy School.  He was a great friend to me and I will miss him dearly.  Our Hearts and Prayers go out to his family and friends.  Rest In Peace my dear friend.

Thanks for taking me under your wing when I would come home from college and work at Andrew Co. It really meant a lot. You took me fishing to all your good spots and treated me like family. I’ll always remember that when I come back home to Clayton. May your family find peace.

It's been a long time since we ran together.  I think of the great times we had all those years ago.  Now, more than ever, you come to mind during my morning run.  You are missed tremendously, but our memories of you will always be cherished.   May you Rest In Peace.

  I remember when we were little under the safety of our grandma Johnson, sleeping with grandma, it was her, you, and then me, when we were separated from her, after the fire, I took you under my wings and protected you so, I can't apologize, for the way we lived, but we did the best we could, under the circumstances, when dad took you, I had no reason to stick around, you were my boy, I can happily say, that you turned out to be great dad,husband, father, and brother, you are already greatly missed, say hi to grandma, mom and all the other relatives, until we meet again, I want to tell the boys, I love you, and if you need anything, just let me know, I'm here for you all.

Donnie was my best friend in high school.  We shared so many great memories together.  
Donnie convinced me to join the Navy saying "They are paying me to see the world!" That sounded pretty good to a struggling college student.  
I was with him in Great Lakes when he met Heidi.   "You really rocked his world!"  
We were able to spend some time together in Norfolk when our ships were docked nearby.  
We grew apart in distance but our friendship never waivered.   I will miss him greatly but I know I will see him again.  "See ya bud!!"


To the Lydic family

I had the pleasure of working with Don at Andrew and CommScope.  Usually we were trying to solve a customer's problem - Don frequently had the answers that I needed, and if he didn't, he would do his best to find them.   He was a man of great character, a family man, who always looked out for the customer and put others ahead of himself.

I will miss Don's smile and his willingness to pitch in to get the job done.  I offer you my sincere condolences, and my prayers, with the knowledge that Don will now rest in peace in the presence of Christ.

Dear Heidi, Anthony, Nick and Lucas, I’m so sorry to hear of your loss. You’re all in my thoughts and prayers.

Heidi--you married young and grew up with Don, just like I did with Dave.  Your love for him was pure and unconditional; you remain his greatest friend and champion always.

Donnie, we will forever treasure the time we spent together when you stayed with us when you came for your mom's funeral.  It was a special time of getting to know you and I'm sorry it was the last time.  Say "hi" to mom and the rest of our many family members that have gone on before us.  We love you and you will forever be in our hearts.

Donnie, although we didn't spend much time with you we always knew you were special.  You will be missed but we know you are in a good place with Jesus.  Your cousin, Frank went before you July 21, 2014 so hopefully you will get to be with him.  Love to your family and our condolences to all who loved you.

What a shock to hear the news of your passing.  You are loved more than you know.  You have left a wonderful legacy in your boys, that we will treasure always.   We know we will see you one day and will catch up on those hugs we missed.  Rest in Peace, sweet nephew.  

Donnie, You were our first son and so very special to us. We loved you more than you know and you will be sorely missed. We are so proud of the fine, successful man and dad that you became. Your time with us was cut short, but we know that you are safe, healthy and strong in the arms of our Lord, Jesus Christ.
