Emma Smith Gregory, of Clayton, NC, passed away Tuesday, November 27, 2018 in Clayton. Emma was born on November 8, 1937, in Pomona, MO, to the late Ollie and Cecil Smith. She married Herbert Fowler, Jr. on May 4, 1953 in Salina, KS. She worked for many years at Pine State Creamery as a material handler and machine operator. Emma was survived by her sons, Leonard Fowler and wife, Sally, of Georgia, Billy Fowler, of Florida, Robert Fowler and wife, Laura, of South Carolina; daughter, Sharon Fowler and friend, Bernie, of Nebraska, Sonya Graham and husband, Dana, of North Carolina; 9 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, Emma was preceded in death by her husband, Douglas Gregory; brother, David Smith; husband, Herbert Fowler, Jr.; and sister, Alice Arnold. Funeral service will be held Saturday, December 1, 2018, at 2:30pm, at Holland United Methodist Church, 9433 Ten Ten Road, Raleigh, NC 27603, with Pastor Vaughn officiating. Entombment will follow at Pinecrest Memorial Park, 12830 US-70 Business Highway West, Clayton, NC 27520. The family will have a reception following at the home of Sonya and Dana, 691 Riverwood Dr., Clayton, NC 27527.
