Mr. Milton H McCauley

December 1, 1947February 18, 2021

MILTON HARTON McCAULEY GARNER - Milton Harton McCauley passed away peacefully on February 18, 2021 at his residence.

He was born in Durham to the late Andrew Mathew and Flora Mason Harton McCauley. Mr. McCauley was also pre-deceased by his oldest child, M.B. McCauley (CDR/USN). He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Tam Matthews McCauley and his youngest child, P.R. McCauley of Wilson, as well as two grandchildren, Kendall and Walker McCauley of Cottage Grove, Oregon. Mr. McCauley is also survived by his siblings, Clara Edwards, Andrew and William McCauley, plus many special nieces and nephews as well as a whole host of in-laws, church family and friends. He retired from IBM and was an active member of Shiloh Baptist Church until the onset of his declining health.

Due to Covid 19, no formal services are planned, in hopes of a celebration of his life at a safer time.

Mr. McCauley has been called an exceptional and patient husband, an awesome dad, a loyal friend, a hard-working provider, an honorable and decent man. But the thing that brought him the most joy was being called a “child of the KING”.

The family would like to thank Transitions Hospice Care for their compassionate service and assistance. Anyone wishing to honor Mr. McCauley’s memory may do so through their support of Transitions or Shiloh Baptist Church.

Years ago we were fortunate to have the McCauleys as our neighbors. Early one morning as we were leaving for work, unbeknownst to us, a car blazing in flames had wrecked into a tree in the woods next to our driveway. There was Milton pulling the driver from the vehicle. He was a wonderful, kind, thoughtful, caring and accommodating man! My heartfelt condolences to his family...Clara Raynor

So sorry for loss, I worked with Milt at IBM, he was a wonderful person to be associated with. Other than the normal memories related to work two memories stick out. He was late to work one morning because he pulled a man from a burning auto wreck. Some of the dept. went to the beach for a weekend and Milt made the best grits I have ever had for breakfast. He was a good employee and a good friend to all at work.
