Vera Greene Batchelor, beloved wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother passed away peacefully on Saturday, March 2, 2024, at the age of 92 with her husband of 73 years by her side. She was born in Spring Hope, NC on June 2, 1931, to the late Joseph Edmond and Tassie C. Greene.
She is survived by her husband, Adolphus Batchelor; son, Ed Batchelor of Wilmington; daughter, Arlene Smart and her husband Terry of Clayton; grandchildren, Bryan Batchelor and his wife, Haley, Carol Parrott and her husband, Brian, Samantha Nordan and Stephanie Van Dyke and husband, Aaron; great grandchildren, Noah, Ella, Luke, Cooper, Riley, Lila, Cameron, Henry and Peyton.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in her Vera's name may be made to the Holly Grove Baptist Church Building Fund.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, March 5, 2024, from 1:00 until 2:00pm in the Family Life Center of Holly Grove Baptist Church, 1640 Holly Rd. Spring Hope, NC with the funeral services following at 2:00pm in the church sanctuary. The committal service will follow at Oakdale Cemetery in Spring Hope.
