Anna A. (Cowder) Fledderman

May 9, 1928February 9, 2019

Anna A. (Cowder) Fledderman, 90 years of age, died the morning of Saturday, February 9th, 2019 in her home in Goshen Township. Born in 1928, Ann was the daughter of Wade Hampton Cowder and Ethel B (Caldwell) Cowder. In 1884 Ann’s father bought the land, built a cabin, developed the farm, and finished the house that was to be Ann’s home for the majority of her life. Despite the difficult and early loss of her beloved mother in 1938, Ann’s reverence for her father became a source of strength in her own life. Ann’s early tales of post Great Depression hardships were often offset with fond memories of her father’s ingenuity, commitment, love, and fortitude to preserve farm and family. Ann was a member of the Shawnee Fort Chapter Daughter of the American Revolution and was the youngest of nine siblings who have preceded her in death: Ira, Bernice, Agatha, Alice, Albert, Roxie, Vera, and Bessie. Married in 1945, Anna is also preceded in death by George Fledderman in 1982. Anna leaves her daughter, Glenna Woodring and husband David of Clearfield; daughter Joan Peters and husband John of Benton, PA; son Keith Fledderman and partner Richard McFadden of Philadelphia,PA; grandchildren: John, Susan, Derek, Erin Peters; Chad, Tina and Stacey Woodring; and ten amazing great-grandchildren: Zachary and Nicholas Kocher, Dustin, Molly and Donovan Silver, Jack Peters, Henry and Maxwell Kovach, Chase and Colt Kostelnik. Per Anna’s request, her body will be cremated. An interment date will be set for the immediate family. Plans are underway for a gathering at a later date for all friends and family who wish to attend and celebrate Ann’s life. Special thanks to family members and friends (especially Lori Barber) who helped Anna remain in her home as was her wish. Anna was blessed with a healthy life, a loving family, a home that she loved, and she saw God in the everyday miracles that nature shared through the land around her. She will be sorely missed. Arrangements are under the care of Bennett and Houser Funeral Home, Inc. in Clearfield. Memorial contributions can be made to the Goshen Township Fire hall. I've known Ann for about 50 years and most recently got to see her a year or two ago when she and her son Keith stopped by for a visit. It was a great visit and I'm so glad they dropped by.

Condolences to Ann's friends, family and loved ones.

Thank you Keith for bringing your mother by for that visit.

I want to extend my sympathy to all of you, I just found out today of the passing of your mother. I remember her the day of her husband's funeral and I was pregnant with my oldest son. She was a very nice person and quiet. I remember her going up to Fledderman's camp with you and your families, please take care and know I am thinking of all of you. Take care, Charlene (Jim's wife) Fledderman
