Donald (Donny) Obold, age 62 died peacefully in his sleep. He was born in Washington D.C. and lived most of his life in Rockville, Md. Where he attended St. Elizabeth Catholic School and graduated from Charles W. Woodward High School in 1974.
Donny was an avid hiker and wilderness camper. As a Boy Scout he hiked a good part of the Appalachian Trail in the eastern states. Later he backpacked through the deserts in Arizona and mountain climbed through the Grand Canyon, Washington state, Montana, and California. He loved God’s beautiful world.
Donny volunteered and worked for Manna Food Center in Gaithersburg, Md. and also volunteered for NAMI and participated in their fundraising walks. Donny moved to Bradenton, Fl. In 2012 and resided in Palm Harbor, Fl. at the time of his death. He was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes parish in Dunedin, Fl where he often attended daily mass and The Circle of Joy prayer group.
Donny is survived by his mother, Nancy Obold; brother, Charles Obold Jr.; sister, Michelle Victorine and her husband Arne, sister, Susan Harper and her husband, Brent of South Carolina; and numerous nephews and nieces.

A Mass of Christian Burial will take place Saturday March 24th at 11am at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, 750 San Salvador Dr., Dunedin, Fl. and interment will be at Saints Peter & Paul the Apostles Church in Bradenton, Fl.
