Gregory Myles Swarts

Gregory (Greg) Myles Swarts of Tampa Florida passed away on May 22, 2017. He was born in Eustis, Florida and eventually resided in the Clearwater/Tampa area. He was employed by DEPCO Pumps in their Marine division. He was predeceased by his father Wilbert L. Swarts and his brother Douglas A. Swarts. He is survived by his mother Sandra J. Gilfillan and stepfather Jim Gilfillan, of Fort Pierce, Florida; his sister Martha (Swarts) Gratta, husband Peter; nephews Kevin (Jennifer) and Vincent and great nephew Myles all of the Clearwater/Largo area. He is also survived by his half-brothers Brian and Roy Swarts of Tampa; close friends Bridgette Ferdinandsen and Josh, Gail and Rachel Bennet and Emily Mitchell. Greg enjoyed golf, fishing and playing his guitars with his long time best friend Gary Barbour of Brooksville. Greg will be greatly missed by his family and many friends and remembered as a uniquely loyal and loving person. He always had a smile and kind words for everyone he met. He was known for pulling pranks and had an obvious good sense of humor. A private viewing was held on Wednesday, May 24, 2017 for family and close friends. A celebration of his life will be held at Lake Panasoffkee in the near future pursuant to his wishes. Greg, may you rest in loving peace and know how much you were loved by all who knew you.
